The past 2 years as President have certainly flown. Must be the old age!
I won't be standing for re-election and therefore wish my successor all the best in their new role. I'd like to thank the current committee and all the Highway Wanderers members for their support during my term.
Helene and I are looking forward to catching up with everyone at future meetings and on the road sometime. We certainly have some made some good friendships over the years.
Till we meet again, safe travels.
Phil Procter, President

Hi all you fellow Highway Wanderers
Firstly let me apologise for Barryne and I for not being up there at Forbes to meet up with everyone again and find out what's happening out on the road. You may know that we have been stranded here in Melbourne motor homeless while our new one is being built. We have also sold our house and settlement is 1st October so things are pretty hectic with the moving process. The next few lines represent my secretary report for the period since the last meeting. Seriously I haven't got much to report other than the fact that we have not received any nominations for the chapter officers positions and Phil Procter has advised that he will not be standing for the President position. It would be great to see some new names on the Office Bearers list. Just for the record I am happy to stand for the Secretary's job and hopefully if I am returned to the position I will be able to do a better job when we get back on the road. I would like to take this opportunity to again thank Robin and Keryn Wood for all the work they put in especially in the printing and distribution of the newsletter. Well I hope you don't have too much fun at Forbes because Barryne and I get a bit depressed each day at around 4.30 when we know you will all be heading to happy hour. Have a great rally and can't wait for Broken Hill.
Cheers
Chris Wilson Secretary
The motion to receive the Secretary's Report was moved by Lance Trestrail S25197 seconded by Tom Sargent N20881 and carried by the meeting.

By the end of November there will be 348 caravan parks offering a 10% discount to CMCA members. They are printing a new members mate in the second quarter of 2008.
All entertainment and seminar venues at Broken Hill will be air conditioned. Also there will be special air-conditioned cool off rooms. Rally's for 2009 are being organised and probable sites are Whyalla SA in March and Toowoomba in October. A risk assessment card will be printed for Chapters with suggestions to minimise risk at meetings. The card will be distributed with the new blue book.
Owing to large differences in vehicles and siteing problems they are having a chapter info booth instead of chapter row. More staff is being employed to help directors with their roles as most directors are responsible for more than one area. The CMCA head office will be closed between Christmas & New Year.
All members are encouraged to visit the RV friendly towns and support them when possible.
