Develops Great Rally
Stopover
Looking for
a great stopover on
the way to the Whyalla
CMCA Anniversary Rally?
Come to Nyah on the
weekend of 13th and 15th
March 2009.Nyah is 42 km
west of Swan Hill on the
Murray Valley Highway.
The Nyah community has
been working hard to
develop an area where
motorhomes and caravans
can visit their area
with the knowledge that
they will be offered an
attractive area to "bush
camp" with no overnight
fee. The area they
can offer us access to
is beside the Harness
Racing facility. There
is a toilet block and
dump point[ provided by
the CMCA/ Kea Program}.
Good water is also
available. The area is
within easy walking
distance to the Murray
River and the small
shopping centre of
Nyah. On the weekend
14th and 15th March the
Lion's Club are
organising a weekend for
the morhomers travelling
to Whyalla or who are
just looking for a few
days away in a great
spot. At this stage the
program would be: Dinner
at the Tooleybuc Club
on Friday night. A
special meal is being
negotiated.
Saturday morning there
will be a Bush market on
the grounds. Any members
wishing to have a stall
at the market would be
most welcome. A BBQ meal
and entertainment will
be available on Saturday
night using the
large centre on the
grounds. Sunday morning
there is another Bush
Market in nearby Swan
Hill. Depending on
numbers a Disc Bowls
Comp could be
arranged. Nyah is
a small community that
can see the benefits of
making the travelling
public welcome at their
town. The site at the
Harness Racing facility
is available throughout
the year and would be a
great venue for Chapter
weekends of for a group
of motorhomers
travelling the Murray
Valley Highway.
Travellers to the
Whyalla Rally are
welcome to stay for as
long as they wish,
both before and after
the weekend 13th
to 15th March. Thinking
of calling in on your
way to Whyalla? Give
David or Lyn a call on
0408554580 or email
thechalkies@bigpond.com
or
thechalkies@bordernet.com.au
so that we can give the
organisers an idea of the
numbers. It is not
necessary to book in. Nyah
would love to see
you there.
